Inspired by the exemplary love of late, Master D. Sreenivas, a young lad, for the victims of Divi Seema Cyclone of 1977, Sri C.V. Subrahmanyam, his teacher, and Sri M.P.R.V. Raja Rao, a well known social worker, the General Secretary of Anand Nagar Welfare Association, Khairathabad, and the Founder Correspondent of Prakasam Vidya Niketan High School, founded Vivekananda Seva Sangham and got it registered in 1982.

   Initially Vivekananda Seva Sangham concentrated on activities related only to children. Poor and meritorious children are given educational support by paying their school-fees and providing them with books etc. This service is being rendered even now. VSS has organized a number of programs meant for bringing out the latent talents of children. In 1989, in connection with Nehru’s Birth Centenary Year, Vivekananda Seva Sangham organized a grand event, which was telecast on Door Darshan for half-an-hour.

   In 1999, which was declared as the year of the aged, Vivekananda Seva Sangham started an old-age home named as ‘Om Sai Seva Ashram’. Since then it has been going from strength to strength. With about twenty-five inmates now the Home, which is being run in a rented building, is full. As we are not able to meet the ever-growing demand for more admissions we approached the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for land to build an old-age home. In appreciation of our efforts the Government of Andhra Pradesh have allotted to Vivekananda Seva Sangham about 1,500 sq. yards at Miyapur, Madinaguda, Serilingampally Mandal. For this we would be ever grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, India, particularly to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Hon’ble Minister for Revenue. Vivekananda Seva Sangham has been granted I.T. Exemption under Section 80 G of IT Act.  We have FCR Account No. 010220145 issued by the Government of India.
